8. Innocence I sat in the full courtroom cameras and news crews waiting just as I am now to find out if I'll be found innocent or guilty. Despite the fact that a good portion of the evidence was stacked against me and most people who followed my case had their minds made up practically everyone I've ever met would tell you that I'm was an otherwise caring and respectable member of society. They say I murdered seven people and even though my alibis for the time off all the killings are solid and I have the best lawyer I could afford I still fear that I might be sent to prison for the rest of my life. But all I can do now is sit here in my orange jumpsuit i8. Innocence by ~the-chosen-pessimist
7 Heaven "What do you think happens when you die." The tall skinny private asked as he dealed the cards out to his fellow soldiers who all sat around the table in the medical tent far from the trenches where some of the people they had trained with were fighting in the front lines. "Jesus man again with this bullshit." The medic asked having grown tired of the question. He'd heard it from all the poor kids who'd been brought in to him a few minutes too late sometimes after he'd done all he could, sometimes he over heard it as a few other medics were carrying him away on a stretcher. Wasteland Chapter 10 "Oh fuck me." Sean said under his breath as his eyes widened and his mind began to race. With his hands shaking he lit a cigarette to calm his nerves and slumped against the wall opposite the window. Once his body couldn't sink any lower against the wall he buried his face in his knees his mind still reeling on what to do. Suddenly he heard some yelling down stairs, it was the familiar sound of Johnson and Mike arguing. He knew then that he might have a chance of making it easier to lessen their numbers and make an escape. Sean stood tossing his cigarette out the window and called Johnson. 6 Break Away A man sits at the edge of his bed in the cheep motel room that he rented for the night. His eyes dart back and forth between the clock and the door knowing that every second he waits is another that gives them the chance to find him. The keys to his car are in one hand and his gun in the other, it's cocked and loaded but he prays that he won't have to use it. Bags full of what ever he had the chance to get together at his home were scattered around the room. Looking around he wondered how it all came to this.
