It was late in the night as a young man stumbles as he tries his best to stand as the rain pours down on to the streets and alley ways. "Those mother fuckers." He says through his teeth that are clenched so tight that they bleed. He finds an empty alley way between two run down tenements as he clutches his side while he slumps down on the wet ground, his back against the brick of the building. He begins to breath heavily as he tilts his head back looking up to the sky as the blood from his mouth and broken nose mix with the rain water that run down his face. "I'm gonna fucking die in this damn alley way." He thinks to himself as his head sinks down looking at the gun wound in his side and then cries out "Those back stabbing mother fuckers they shot me they fucking shot me!" He began coughing up a bit of blood and his body fell it's side his wound facing skyward. "Oh shit. Shit, shit shit!" He wheezed. He began feeling it get harder to breath "Shit why me huh? Why me, I never did shit." He asked to know one. His mind began to drift to when it all started. He'd been sitting in the car with his captain Anthony Meroncci "Hey Tommy you listening. Tommy!" Anthony said as he noticed he was preoccupied looking out the window. "Yeah I'm listening." He replied defensively. "Then what did I just say?" Tommy rolled his eyes before answering him "You said we're going to meet the Don and Al's guys for this meeting with the Dellinos so be on my fucking toes." Anthony lightly tapped his cheek with his palm a couple times "There's hope for you yet kid." Tommy smirked he'd always liked Anthony he was the one that showed him the way since day one and now here he was about to be security for a big meeting. Soon the car stopped "Alright kid here we are, don't be nervous either these things usually go off without a hitch just don't do nothing stupid, you're lucky enough just to be here." Tommy nodded as they walked from the car to inside. As they walked down the hall they reached the elevators and stepped inside them and waited to get to the top floor. "Hey kid..." Anthony said his hands calmly resting in front of him "there's one more thing I want to say before you get to our floor..." Anthony pressed the button for the next floor "I'm sorry Tommy it's nothing personal." The elevator doors opened as Anthony grabbed the pistol from Tommy's waist band then two men grabbed Tommy from the elevator. Tommy looked back at the closing doors feeling his heart sink. As he looked at the two men he recognized them as Al and his top soldier. They had him pined against the wall and a gun pointed between his eyes. "Sorry about this kid but the Don he just don't trust ya." Al cocked his gun and was about to pull the trigger when Tommy broke free from the soldiers grip and head butted him causing him to drop the gun which he picked up and popped of two shots in the head of Al's soldier before he could even draw his gun. As he watched the man drop he suddenly felt Al's forearm across the back of his head. He turned around to shoot Al but was met with a flurry of punches to the center of his face and heard the cartilage in his nose break. Tommy backed away and brought the butt of the gun on Al's forehead and shot a few bullets into him and dropped the gun and headed for the stairs. Tommy was halfway down the wall when he heard a gun go off and looked back to see Al with the other man's gun. "Shit." he said to himself as he began to run towards the stairs hoping he wouldn't get hit. He was about to push the door to the stairwell when two bullets found the left side of his body. He managed to escape the building with no other resistance and after a hours of wandering the Bronx in the dead of night looking for a friendly face only to find an empty alley way only a few miles shot of the nearest hospital. Tommy tried his best to stand again as the rain began to die down. His hand that wasn't clutching his gunshot wound was used to propped against the wall to keep himself up as his vision began to fade. As he reached the end of the alley he fell on to the sidewalk as headlights of a car drove towards him and parked besides him. The passenger side door opened and a man with an umbrella stepped out and opened the back door where two other men stepped out. The man with the umbrella made sure that the two men were covered from the rain. Tommy looked up to see one of the men who was wearing a hat lighting a cigar. "And just who the hell are you, here to finish the job?" Tommy asked just loud enough for the man to hear him. The man in the hat took a drag from his cigar before answering him "I'm friend and that's all you need to know, now boys get this pour soul in the car." The man holding the umbrella handed it to the man in the hat as the other man picked him up and helped him into the passenger seat. Once everyone was in the car it sped off the same direction it came and Tommy passed out with his head against the window. He woke up hours latter in a bed with his wounds bandage. "Oh man where the hell am I?" He asked holding his head as he sat up. "Somewhere safe." He heard a voice say. He looked to see the man with the hat from last night sitting in a chair with a glass of wine to which he raised to him. "Just who the hell are you?" "A friend, someone with his ear to the floors of this city, a person who knows you want revenge, someone who's gonna be big in time in this city and knows you're just the guy to help me do it. However first things first Al and his boy are dead and so are don Dellino and his captains." Tommy shook his head "Good I don't give a fuck about any of those assholes, how long have I been out any way and how do you know all this?" "Not too long, and it's like I said I've got my ear to the floors of this city. It's how I know you were gonna get whacked and how I know your too tough to be taken out by some piss-ant captain and his dopey fucking yes man. Your former don he doesn't trust anyone but you and me kid we're gonna take him out and his lap dog Anthony in due time but now your in no shape to do shit so you relax." The man stepped out of the room as Tommy laid back in his bed.
I've always wanted to write about the mafia and I think this is gonna be the closest I'm gonna get to writing a full story about it and we're gonna be seeing these guys again eventually.
